When the global pandemic broke out earlier this year, the sales and marketing teams decided to raise funds for a charity who supported their community during the crisis. To add some competition to the fund raising, the worldwide based team held a beard growing contest during lockdown, with the winner being picked by a select team of judges. A total of 10 team members took part in the beard battle, all suffering the itchy, scratchy feeling of swapping shaving for stubble and beard growth. Some couldn’t wait to reach for their razor to shave once the 2 month competition concluded but some have proudly kept their beards!
The competition winner was Kazuo Ishizuka, our Sales Manager from Japan, who nominated the Japanese Red Cross Society as his charity of choice. We would like to congratulate everyone who took part, but especially Kazuo for being the winner and David Hamlin from Pelican BioThermal, who came up with the original idea for the charity competition.
